ViewsML’s CEO will participate in two sessions to explore how biobanks can help startups build credible evidence and support the development of emerging AI models
WHO: Kenneth To, CEO of ViewsML, a leader in AI-powered virtual staining that is transforming pathology by unlocking the full biological value of H&E slides. The company’s platform virtually predicts biomarker expression from standard H&E slides, preserving scarce tissue samples and delivering immunohistochemistry-equivalent results in minutes, without additional lab steps — accelerating research, clinical trials, and patient care.
WHAT: In two sessions at the ISBER 2026 International Biospecimen Summit in Toronto, To will explore how closer collaboration between biobanks and technology developers can move promising ideas toward validation.
WHEN:
Workshop 2: Accelerating Biotech Access to Biobanks: From Sample Sourcing to Pilot Validation and Fundraising Readiness
To will help lead an interactive workshop on what it takes to build a viable biobank partnership. Using real startup experiences and a fictional case that evolves throughout the session, participants will work through defining the smallest credible pilot, confirming sample and data availability, and navigating ethics review, governance, contracting, costs, patient considerations, and partnership expectations. The focus is on generating evidence that can support validation and fundraising readiness. Wednesday, October 28, 2026 | 2:30–5:30 p.m.
Symposium 5: From Biospecimens to Algorithms: How Biobanks Enable the Development and Validation of Emerging AI Models
To will join fellow speakers to examine the growing role of biobanks in AI research. The session will explore what makes a biobank “AI-ready,” including how specimens are collected and annotated, linked to clinical and molecular data, governed, standardized, and made accessible for research. Friday, October 30, 2026 | 10:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
WHERE:

About ViewsML
ViewsML is transforming pathology by unlocking the full biological value of H&E slides through AI-driven virtual staining of biomarkers. Designed to integrate seamlessly into existing pathology workflows, ViewsML's platform virtually predicts biomarker expression from standard H&E slides, preserving scarce tissue samples and delivering immunohistochemistry-equivalent results in minutes, without additional lab steps — accelerating research, clinical trials, and patient care. ViewsML is building the world's first virtual biomarker library, enabling scientists and clinicians to perform virtual staining in minutes rather than the days to weeks required by traditional laboratory methods.
